Slate Creek Campground

Farson, WY

The Slate Creek campground is just south of the shores of Fontenelle Reservoir, on the Green River, and just north of Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge. The area is a mecca for birdwatching and fishing. Free facilities for this area include designated camping sites, 2 ADA accessible vault toilets, picnic areas and fishing access to the Green River. This site is near historic resources. Please do not collect or damage these resources.

Overview Bear River Campground is located about 27 miles south of Evanston, Wyoming just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway at an elevation of 8,400 feet. The byway cuts through the Uinta Mountains, which are known for their abundant recreational opportunities and scenic beauty.

Maples Campground

Ogden, UT

There is no longer a Maples campground north of the Snowbasin Ski Resort. All picnic tables, firerings and restrooms have been removed. The public may still camp in the area, but must camp away from the trail that goes through the site. All access is walk-ins/bicycles/horses only, no motor vehicles, it is approximately 1/2 mile from the gate. The gate just off the pavement at the lower Snowbasin parking lot is the gravel trail/road to the area.

Oaks Park Campground

Vernal, UT

There are 11 campsites on the south shore of large and lovely Oaks Park Reservoir. There is a pump handle well on the west shore of the reservoir. Trails lead north from the lake, and the area is open to OHV use. A trail leads south from the campground to the Big Brush Creek Cave. If you are interested in caving, please contact the Forest Service.

Kaler Hollow Campground

There are 4 tent sites at the north end of the Taylor Mountain Plateau. The Old Carter Military Trail passes by the campground. Consult the forest map for details about specific hikes. OHV use is permitted in the area north and south of the campground. The Forest Service offers a free detailed map of the areas open to unrestricted use. Please contact the Forest Service for information about exploring the Big Brush Creek Cave.

Firehole Canyon Campground is located on the far northeastern shore of Flaming Gorge Reservoir within the Flaming Gorge Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest. Rock Springs, Wyoming, is just 29 miles away. Boating, fishing and water skiing are popular activities. Recreation Fishing, boating, canoeing, water skiing and swimming are popular activities on the lake. Campers are offered the convenience of an adjacent boat ramp and a beach area.

The Tail Race Campground features three campsites with fire rings and a vault toilet. This campground is wedged between Fontenelle Reservoir and Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge, and so makes a fantastic site for birding, fishing, or non-motorized water sports. Historically, this area was a gathering place for trappers during their annual rendezvous, and the modern day explorer can still see the lure of such a rich and welcoming area.

Weeping Rock Campground is a popular spot for fishers, campers and picnickers and offers fishing and boat access to the Green River. It has 10 campsites with picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a vault toilet. Trout and kokanee salmon live in this area of the Green River, and since the area is restricted to motorboats, the fishing is always good.

Campers are drawn to the area to boat and fish in the lake and to hike or horseback ride on the many trails.

Buckboard Marina has boat rentals, fuel, slips, fishing licenses, bait and groceries.
