Utah regions
Northern Utah
Cache Valley, the Bear River range, Logan Canyon, Bear Lake and the north slope of the Uintas - cool, green, and the closest real forest camping to the Idaho and Wyoming lines.
Uinta Basin & Eastern Utah
Flaming Gorge, the High Uintas south slope, Duchesne and Uintah county reservoirs, and the Book Cliffs country around Price and Huntington.
Wasatch Front
Everything within an easy drive of Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo and Tooele - American Fork Canyon, Big and Little Cottonwood, Mirror Lake's western approach, and the Oquirrh and Stansbury ranges.
Canyon Country (Southeast)
Moab, Arches and Canyonlands, the Colorado River corridor, Monticello, Blanding, Bears Ears and the Abajo and La Sal high country.
Greater Zion & Bryce (Southwest)
Zion, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, Kanab, Escalante and Capitol Reef's western approach - red rock desert below, cool plateau forest above.
Central Utah
Fishlake, the Sanpete and Sevier valleys, the Tushar Mountains, Manti-La Sal's western half and the quiet high lakes off I-15 and Highway 89.
